Japanese Sumi-e, or ink painting, is an ancient art form that was practiced by Buddhist monks as a form of meditation and continues to grow in popularity worldwide. Artist and instructor, Fontaine Rodgers will guide students in the use of traditional brushes and ink to make basic strokes -- including orchid leaf, bamboo leaf, and bone or stem stroke.
