The Florida Women's Arts Association is pleased to present a group exhibition featuring member’s latest artwork. The “Fresh Works 1: Color” exhibit will run from February 1 through February 25, 2019 at The Casements Gallery, 25 Riverside Drive, Ormond Beach. All are invited to the free artists' opening champagne reception on Friday, February 1, from 5 – 7pm.
The exhibition Fresh Works 1: Color asks "Who are you now as an artist?" Not in comparison to the artist's earlier self, but what gambles is she taking now, where is she poking the edges of her artistic security? The artist knows that inspiration happens most readily when one is working at the edges of one's comfort level, at the moment between competence and risk.
More than thirty artists are represented, including photographers, sculptors, painters, mixed media art, fiber, and more. The Casements is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to noon, and closed Sunday. No admission charge.
The purpose of the Florida Women's Arts Association Inc. (FLWAA) is to bring recognition to the achievements of Florida women artists by exhibiting and supporting art by women and by educating the public about their accomplishments. FLWAA membership includes artists in all disciplines including visual arts, music, and writing and welcomes new members.
