Featured Speaker: Sherryl Weems, Ed.D.
Associate Vice President Daytona State College
 
Dr. Sherryl D. Weems serves as the Associate Vice President for the Mary Karl College of Workforce and Continuing Education at Daytona State College.  She has a long-standing record of dynamic leadership in higher education having served in progressively responsible positions over the span of her career.  Her professional profile is characterized by her sustained focus and commitment to economic and workforce development and, to those who are targeted as underserved.   Related to local community service, Dr. Weems is a member of the Volusia Manufacturer’s Association, the CareerSource Flagler/Volusia Career Pathways Committee, and the Practitioners Council for Team Volusia.  She currently serves on the Boards of the Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Volusia Flagler Counties and the Ormond Beach Family YMCA.  In addition, she serves as a member of the Governmental Relations Committee for the Ormond Beach Chamber and supports the Ormond Beach Leadership Program.   She most recently joined the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce Workforce & Education Task Force.  Dr. Weems is a recent graduate of the professional leadership programs offered through Daytona Regional and Ormond Beach Chambers of Commerce.
