Summary of Position:

The Sales Associate position focuses on new business conversion and retention in support of our in-house agency and our strategic partners. Responsibilities include handling incoming new business sales calls, processing web-generated quotes for prospective clients, and assisting our strategic partners with converting leads through multiple sources. The Sales Associate is responsible for effectively pre-qualifying new business applicants by evaluating each risk against the carrier’s eligibility and underwriting guidelines to support a profitable book of business. In addition, the Sales Associate will provide support to the agency’s customers by providing professional guidance on coverage, options, and endorsements.

Hiring for the following shifts:

  • Sunday - Thursday
    • Sunday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm                           
    • Monday - Thursday: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm
  • Tuesday - Saturday
    • Tuesday - Friday: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm
    • Saturday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
  • Monday - Friday: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
  • Monday - Friday: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

Essential Job Functions:

  • Submit new business quotes and applications within the carrier’s eligibility guidelines;
  • Complete application and documentation requirements in compliance with each carrier’s guidelines;
  • Request and maintain appropriate agency file documentation to include applications, forms, or other items necessary to support risk selection and eligibility; provide to carrier underwriting as requested;
  • Proficiency in the use of all systems and tools necessary for job accuracy: including but not limited to Carina, ESignature, Mailboat and phone system, as applicable;
  • Provide guidance/assistance to customers with endorsements, coverage changes, or inquiries regarding their policy;
  • Assist in other areas of department or other departments as required
  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation
  • Present a professional appearance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 440 FL Property and Casualty Customer Service license required; may obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Prior Florida homeowners insurance, retail sales, or recognized industry designation preferred
  • PC Literate with a firm understanding of Microsoft Office Programs and web searches, comfortable working with data and reports from various system sources
  • Flexible, creative and challenged by change
  • Interacts well with different people with various backgrounds and is able to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
