SUMMARY:Habit of Asking Workshop - Do you have enough funding?
DESCRIPTION:Who it's for \n\nCampus staff leaders raising support\n\nNon-profit founders & social entrepreneurs\n\nMissional community groups\n\nChurch leaders \n\nChurch planters\n\n\n\nAbout\n\nIt's been said\, "No money\, no mission." That means you are standing at the edge of a cliff. You have no choice but to jump. Will you freeze up with fear? Will you reach for a parachute to slowly float away toward an unnoticed\, soft landing?\n\nOr will you realize you have WINGS and you can FLY with freedom\, confidence and creativity? \n\nFundraising starts very practically "Do we have enough funding?" But it's also an emotional and spiritual adventure "How do I feel about asking for money\, and how does asking for support impact my vocation and call to those I serve?" What can fundraising teach me about my relationship with money?\n\nThis half-day intensive is a practical training about raising funds the why\, how\, where\, when and from whom. You will learn about your own relationship with money and develop the skills necessary to become a more confident\, creative\, and effective fundraiser.\n\nAt the end of the intensive\, you'll be able to:\n\n\n	Discern who to ask (and when) \n	Ask for money without hurting relationships \n	Know how to respond to a "No" (and a "Yes") \n	Tell your story with clarity and confidence \n	Speak to the research on generosity\n	Articulate the three dimensions of money \n	Learn from a community of peers \n	Train a fundraising team (if needed) \n	Access additional training/coaching as needed \n\n\nWho is leading it? \n\nHost: Katherine Kyle\, Thrivent Financial\, Community Engagement Leader\n\nFacilitator: Tim Schuster is based in Mpls\, Minn. He is a Team Member at Habit of Asking by Thrivent Church Solutions Group and Founder of The Midtown Company where he helps non-profits\, churches\, and small businesses get discovered\, expand their network\, and energize supporters. Tim lives in North Minneapolis with his wife and daughter. \n\nDRESS\n\nOur team is business casual. We will likely be in jeans and polos/button ups. But\, you should wear whatever you're comfortable in!
