Please join artist Kathleen Lusby inside the OMAM Classroom for a three-hour human figure drawing workshop with a live model. Participants should bring their choice of drawing materials and sketch pad, however, Kathleen has a suggested list of drawing supplies mentioned below. You do not need all these supplies to partake in the workshop. Like the previous workshop, Kathleen will have a table set up with samples of her work. She will also include a handout covering key points and helpful tips. At the start of the workshop, Kathleen will do a short demonstration and will cover the following: Placing parameters on drawing area to center figure Recognizing & using fundamental shapes Proportions of the human figure Rendering lines of energy Finding the balance and support of the standing figure Recording the rhythm Understanding active and inactive sides of the model Importance of negative shapes Foreshortening Perspective Eye Level Understanding the different planes Applying shadows, halftones, lights & highlights Here are some supplies you may need for drawing workshops. You do not need to purchase the listed supplies, it’s just a suggestion. Feel free to bring supplies you may already have and are accustomed to using. Suggested Supply List: Graphite pencils Charcoal pencils in black, medium & soft Charcoal pencil in white Pencil sharpener Kneaded Eraser, and/or clic eraser Sketch pad 12x9 or larger in white or grey toned paper in a medium or smooth weight (nothing with heavy texture) Small piece of fabric (piece of old t-shirt) or a Chamois cloth One small soft paint brush about the size of pinky nail.
